Director
Phil teaches Masters courses, supervises doctorates, and helps local churches to relate to their Muslim neighbours. He is interested in the engagement between Christians and Muslims - that Christians can confidently share their faith in Jesus, while listening and seeking to understand Muslim friends and neighbours.
Rev Dr. Dwight D. Swanson
Director
Dwight has been a lecturer in Biblical Studies, primarily in Old Testament/ Hebrew Bible, for more than 30 years, is now a Senior Research Fellow at NTC. His research has turned to a focus on the Bible and the Qur’an, and their interrelation and this has led to involvement in Scriptural Encounter hosted at the University of Manchester.
Ted Bearup MA
Teacher and Chair of Publications
Ted teaches at BA and MA level. He also lectures in a variety of other colleges. Author of several books on Christian engagement with Muslims and he is conducting research on contemporary Islamic movements in the UK. He worked many years in Arabic-speaking Africa.

Gerard is one of two of our visiting lecturers who will be taking the undergraduate classes; he is an experienced teacher and also works with student bodies on campuses.
